The Apostolic Episcopal Church
Upon Bishop Jarvis’ retirement, administration of the AEC was
coordinated under the direction of Bishop Perry N. Cedarholm,
Primate of the church’s Svea Synod, Sweden.

Born in Brooklyn, New York (May, 18, 1890),  +Cedarholm was
reared in the Methodist Episcopal Church.  He would later
attend the Methodist Swedish Theological Seminary (1913)
in Evanston, Illinois, and serve as pastor of the Valdemarsvik
Methodist Church, Sweden.

During the early 1920s, +Cedarholm served as a missionary
to the Philippine Islands, and in 1924, worked with the Brooklyn
City Mission & Tract Society.

In 1940, +Cedarholm was accepted by Archbishop Arthur W.
Brooks into the Apostolic Episcopal Church, where he would
eventually serve as Canon of Christ’s Church by the Sea.  He
was consecrated Bishop on December 6, 1949.
