The Apostolic Episcopal Church is guided by eight general tenets which serve to focus our
philosophy of mission locally, nationally, and internationally.
I. A Committed, Spiritually Called Clergy
We believe that a succession of clergy is derived from Jesus Christ and his
apostles in both external and internal apostolic expressions through the guidance
of the Holy Spirit.
II. To Demonstrate the Fourfold Mission of the Universal Church
1. Expressing a true understanding of apostolic succession.
2. Encouraging an awakening to divine revelation.
3. Sharing the revolutionary meaning and message of Christ.
4. Expressing love through service.
III. To Proclaim the True Meaning of Christ’s Return
We hold that Christ is ever returning, and our preparation in this moment
is essential.
IV. Understanding and Reclaiming the Gifts of the Spirit
We endeavor to awaken in all who seek Christ the many and diverse gifts of
the Spirit so readily experienced by those who constituted the Early Church.
V. An Invitation to the Sacramental Life
We seek to demonstrate the efficacy of a life infused with the mysteries of
the sacraments, and to share the table of Christ with all who seek peace
and understanding.
VI. An Openness to the Gift of Healing
We call upon both clergy and laity to open their hearts and minds to the gift of
healing, be it physical, emotional, or psychological.
VII. A Full Understanding of Our Unity With Christ
We strive to reaffirm our role as partakers of the Divine Nature through Christ.
VIII. To Become Peacemakers for Unity Within the Body of Christ
We take seriously the request to love one another, and do so regardless of
differing opinions.

And most importantly, develop love, which holds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ guide your hearts.
